Hydraulic pistons - Bicelli Hydraulics
A short glossary on technology in hydraulic cylinders
In common language, the term “hydraulic pistons
” refers to the linear hydraulic actuator or hydraulic cylinder
The reason why hydraulic pistons
have acquired this meaning is because the piston is one of the parts of an hydraulic cylinder
: the cylinders are made of a hollow body (the tube), a rod, and a piston moving through the barrel.
Properly speaking thus, hydraulic pistons are just a part of hydraulic cylinders
. That is why you can hear of simple or double acting hydraulic pistons or plunger pistons as if they actually are the whole hydraulic actuator.
